Application Strategy Checkpoint: Registering for April
Twelve weeks in, Phase 2 closing. Time to make the April 2027 registration concrete rather than theoretical.
1. Register Now
Register for the April 8-10, 2027 administration now, even though the test is months away. The Feb 25, 2027 deadline is also the last day for a free date change or full refund — registering early costs nothing and keeps the June backup fully available if Day 125's go/no-go points that way.
2. Revisit School List v1
Re-read Day 17's numbers. With Phase 2 complete and real PT data coming in Phase 4, the school list will get a second, more targeted pass once actual PrepTest scores exist to compare against each school's 75th percentile.
3. CAS and Letters of Recommendation
LSAC's Credential Assembly Service (CAS) needs transcripts and letters of recommendation on file before applications go out in the Sept-Nov 2027 window — start identifying recommenders now, even though the actual letters aren't due for months, since securing a strong recommender's time takes lead time.
4. Patent-Bar Confirmation
If it hasn't happened yet, confirm the MS in CS's Category A/B eligibility against the current USPTO General Requirements Bulletin (Day 17 flagged this as unconfirmed) — this is a five-minute check that removes a real unknown from the long-term plan.
