RC Inference questions ask for what the passage's content supports as true, without being stated outright — the passage-level version of the standard you'll formalize for LR next month.
1. Supported vs. Merely Plausible
The correct answer must be directly supported by combining statements in the passage — not just consistent with the passage's general spirit. This distinction is where most RC Inference errors happen.
2. Combining Statements Across Paragraphs
Unlike Detail questions, Inference answers often require connecting a claim in one paragraph with a claim in another.
3. The Extreme-Language Check
Same RC-EXTREME trap as always: check that the inferred claim's strength matches what the passage actually supports, not more.
